Dance Continua Festival: The Heartbeat Symphony

Dance Continua Productions brings together dance, live music, and interactive technology at The Spark Boulder for two nights in June. The evening centers on the premiere of The Heartbeat Symphony, a work choreographed to a score built from the dancers' own heartbeats, with three pieces spanning three technologies. Doors open at 6pm for interactive installations; the performance runs at 7pm across three parts, followed by an afterparty with food, drinks, and the chance to meet the artists and technologists behind the work. The Spark, a 4,600-square-foot performing arts community space in Boulder dedicated to supporting local artists, hosts the festival at 4847 Pearl St.

What makes it unique

The Heartbeat Symphony uses the performers' own heartbeats as source material for its live score, weaving motion sensors and real-time technology into three distinct works of dance.
