Sacred Voices LIVE! featuring Hakeem Furious

About this experience
Sacred Voices LIVE! is the monthly open mic night run by Sacred Voices, a Denver-based BIPOC+ youth poetry and spoken word organization formerly known as Cafe Cultura. The June 12th edition features Hakeem Furious, a spoken word artist and performer who trained at Florida A&M University and now tours nationally as CEO of the Ultra Terrestrial Tour, weaving poetry and comedy into work rooted in Black cultural preservation. Opening the night is 2B NQ (Kyle Sutherland), a Denver-based poet, emcee, and Sufi whose writing draws on leftist critiques and global liberation movements. First-timers are encouraged to sign up and perform alongside the featured guests.
What makes it unique
Every performer receives a high-quality video of their set, and first-timers are specifically welcomed, making this a rare open mic that actively cultivates new voices rather than just hosting them.
